II Timothy 2:19-22 Nevertherless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity. But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work. Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
Verse 20 says that in a great house there are vessels for honour made of gold and silver and also vessels made to dishounour. We decide what type of vessel we are to be by what we fill ourselves with. Verse 21 says if we purge our self from sin we will be a vessel for hounour. To purge is to separate completely. The things that cause us to war within ourselves have to be removed. In other words, if something triggers our struggles, a TV show, a magazine, a place, or a certain person then we have to separate ourselves from those things completely or as much as possible. Satan will try to make us believe we shouldn't have to separate ourselves, we are just being weak, but that isn't what the Bible says. It is wisdom to see danger and hide.
Proverbs 27:2 A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and Hideth himself; but the simple pass on, and are punished.
In verse 22, Paul lists what to fill ourselves with to be vessels for hounour; Righteouseness, faith, charity, and peace. Then we will have a pure heart. We can obtain those good things in prayer, bible study, and good Christian fellowship.
Differences between materials:
Wood and Earth don't reflect, they are flammable, and they decay. They are broken easily. Gold and silver are refined until they are pure. They can be dented but not destroyed. They can be melted down and reshaped. Gold and silver are harder to find and take more time and effort to make.
You my friend are designed to be a vessel of honour made for the master's use. He wants to fill you with wonderful things and use you to help others. To do this you must make yourself a clean vessel by separating yourself from the things that you know aren't good for you.

Well, I guess like you said in your e-mail I'm not sure anyone will want to read them besides me. I started this blog as a writing outlet. I guess I hoped some unsaved person might be blog-surfing and land here.
You'll probably be surprised who would want to read it. Your Blog would be a blessing to everyone that does.
Thank you for the encouragement, I really appreciate it.
